Ian's first Winter Solstice

We celebrated Winter Solstice with Besta & Papa, as darkness fell we decorated the mantle with evergreen boughs, wheat and a Winter Angel then we lit candles (1 red, 1 green, 1 white, 1 silver and 1 gold) and talked about what the colors meant to us, we shared a reading about solstice and put "magic powder" on to the yule log to make it burn with bright green and blue flames. After our ceremony we exchanged gifts and had a wonderful dinner. Ian's favorite part was unwrapping gifts and eating the paper. This is going to be a new tradition for our little family!
